Job Description:
Come enjoy the beautiful country of Botswana and work to show God and His glory to the people here. While you are here, you will aim for three main objectives. You will map the city and surrounding areas in order to find people, locate churches and better learn the city. In order to accomplish this task, you will work with local pastors, lay leaders and youth. You will also assist in nearby villages and help with basic church planting on a weekly basis. Finally, you will pour into and disciple local young adult believers as you spend lots of quality time with the Batswana. Come and invest in the lives of the people here and be a light that points to Christ and His glory as you serve the Lord and join Him in the work that He is already doing here.

Cultural Information:
Long shorts are acceptable for males in casual ministry settings; pants and a jacket would be needed at certain events. For females, capris are acceptable to be worn when out in the city on personal time. When in village settings, skirts should be worn. No spaghetti strap tank tops unless a shirt is worn underneath.

Geographic Information:
Urban city - desert climate. There are ample opportunities to enjoy African wildlife, including game parks in and near Gaborone. Hunting is an option for those who are interested.

Available Housing:
The team would live in a small, Western-style apartment, probably simple but comfortable with modern conveniences.

Health Considerations:
Botswana will be very hot during this time and a lot of walking will be required. Team members should be in good health. Recommended immunizations should be found in the www.cdc.gov website. There are adequate pharmacies available but students are recommended to bring their own prescription meds as they can be quite expensive here.

Botswana is a desert country - hot and dry. If team members are unable to handle extreme heat and constant exercise, they should reconsider coming. In addition, if there are already existing medical concerns, this should strongly be considered.

Equipment to Bring:
Comfortable walking shoes
