Unexpected Answer to Prayer-The Muth Family

We are incredibly grateful for Greg and Elizabeth Muth, who joined a mission trip from First Baptist Columbia (SC) to Botswana in May 2025. After returning home, they spent time in prayer—and to our amazement, they felt the Lord calling them back to Botswana much sooner than anyone expected.

Initially, we had imagined this as a potential long-term opportunity somewhere down the road. But God had a different timeline. Just two months after their visit, the Muths—along with their three boys—are preparing to return to Botswana in late July to serve for a full year. They will be stepping into our current ministry roles while we are in the States, filling some much needed gaps.

What makes this story even more powerful is that we began praying in January 2025 for someone to come and serve during our year away—but we never shared this prayer request with the Muths. Yet God moved in their hearts and led them to reach out to us about serving here.

We’re in awe of how God answers prayers—often in ways we never expect. We praise Him for Greg and Elizabeth’s obedience and willingness to follow His leading, and we’re excited to see all He will do through their family in the coming year.

Thrive

A highlight of my week is going onto the pediatric oncology ward and doing play therapy with the kids. I had the privilege of training 36 people this past Saturday to do the same. We hope to bring joy to their days and help them forget (at least for a bit) about all they are dealing with.

Fusion

Here’s a little glimpse into Fusion-high school ministry- that meets each month. We have a blast with these students 🎉

Evangelism

At the forefront of all we do, sharing the gospel is job #1. We do this in several different engaging ways, but one way is by intentionally going door to door or to the local market and sharing the gospel with a tool we call ‘Two Paths’ from Matthew 7:13-14. These verses share about the Wide Path leading to destruction/death and the Narrow Path leading to life and the only way to get from the wide path to the narrow path is repenting and believing that Jesus died for our sins and conquered death through his resurrection.

We love volunteers as we have more people to share the gospel and train others to do the same. Below are pics of our teams sharing the gospel and most go into the day super nervous but by the end they are sharing their faith boldly.

Bosele Kids Program

We had 233 kids show up for a one day VBS program at Bosele Baptist Church. The kids got to play games, make salvation bracelets, and hear a story from the Bible.  Pray the seeds of the gospel that have been planted in these young hearts would continue to grow.

Hiking Kgale Hill

We had a beautiful day to hike Kgale Hill with our Nehemiah Team and Mercy Church ‘City Project’ from Charlotte, NC. We were able to pray over our city and praise the Lord with our voices.

Happy Father’s Day

Ellie received the best award yesterday at school and we couldn’t be more proud ❤️ Her award was for ‘Being kind to everyone and always including others’…thankful for our precious Ellie and how the love of Jesus just pours out of her.

Operation Christmas Child Boxes

I remember my grandma packing boxes for Operation Christmas Child through Samaritans Purse in the basement of her little church in the hills of West Virginia.  I had the privilege of seeing the children at the hospital receive boxes this year and hearing the gospel story.  What JOY filled their faces as they opened their boxes…thank you to all of you who pack and pray over these boxes  ❤️

Lake Naivasha with Taylor

I was so blessed to get to spend Taylor’s mid term break with her (4 days) after her Banquet. We drove about 1 1/2 hours from Kijabe to Lake Naivasha. We rented a little Airbnb and just had the best time. She got to sleep in and just chill and we explored a bit.

We took a boat cruise to Crescent Island where ‘Out of Africa’ was filmed  and walked amongst the animals (giraffe, zebra, wildebeest) as there are no natural predators on the island.

We also explored and hiked in Hell’s Gate National Park which is an inactive volcano with hot springs seeping all through the rocks.

A baboon greeted us

Hiking the gorge was beautiful!!

Our guide was awesome. He is a masai and shared with us about his tribe and life.

The inspiration for where Mufasa in the Lion King fell into the gorge and was killed by the wildebeest and also where Tomb Raider’ was filmed.
