OAR Concert

We started listening to OAR in college 30 years ago. Our kids have listened to them and it was surreal to get to go to their 3 decades tour in Raleigh. We all sang and danced all night long 🎶 

 

Friends ❤️

The Lord has provided such a sweet friend in Daisy for Ellie during her time in the States. We prayed each of our kids would find friends during their time in the States and Daisy far exceeded any friendship I thought Ellie could establish during our time. 

These girls have been inseparable since they first met at the bus stop the first morning of school. They got to make memories at Build-a-bear making matching Axolotls and spent the day together at the Durham Kids Museum. 

We thank God for the blessing of friends for our kids ❤️ 

WV adventure

We spent the week in WV with Amanda‘s family. We explored Babcock State Park, Pipestem State Park, Bluestone Lake, and the New River Gorge Bridge.  Lots of hikes through the forest and quad rides filled out time ❤️

The ‘Almost Heaven’ Swings have been so fun to find. 

 

Carowinds

Ellie has been begging to go to Disney, but we couldn’t manage to do it this Stateside. Instead we took a day and explored Carowinds outside of Charlotte. Ellie was so brave and did every large roller coaster she was able to.  What fun memories.

We found another Thomas Dambo troll outside Charlotte ‘Big Pete’. 

Dix Park

 Dix Park in Raleigh has been a blast to visit. They put in 5 Thomas Dambo trolls and we love taking friends to explore them. The Sunflower fields were in bloom for about 2 weeks and we were so happy to get to experience them.  We met our friends the Davises at the Gibson Play Plaza with their friends, if you have kids it is a must visit spot. 

Julia and Kenna who served with us in Botswana for 2 years came to visit us in Raleigh for the day. I love friends who become family ❤️

Day with Paisley

One of my best friends, Dana, passed away earlier this year, and her little girl Paisley is just the sweetest thing. We took her for a day of swimming and trampoline parks.  We all had the best day and you can tell by the last pic, she was worn out on the way home ❤️
