Marriage Retreat

We were so blessed to get to attend a Marriage Retreat at Glen Eyrie Castle in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It was a fabulous weekend filled with great material and free time where we went hiking. So thankful that we get to do life together ❤️

Would highly recommend Glen Eyrie Marriage Retreat: https://gleneyrie.org/

Ellie’s gymnastics

Ellie loves doing gymnastics and has enjoyed her time at Gymcarolina gymnastics. This girl is upside down more than she is right side up most of the time 😂

Bradyn’s 9th grade year

Bradyn has had an amazing 9th grade year at North Raleigh Christian Academy. His teachers have just been the best and he has enjoyed playing football and lacrosse for the first time. We were so proud of him winning the ‘Team Spirit’ award in Varsity Lacrosse and speaks to his resilient character and willingness to try new and sometimes hard things. Love this young fella ❤️

Martin Family Reunion

We had a great time connecting with Amanda’s dad’s side of the family for a Martin Family Reunion in Charleston, WV. So thankful to get to hug necks of people I haven’t seen in years.

Taylor’s Home

Taylor packed up her dorm room and stuffed it all into our car and is now ‘home’ with us for the summer in Raleigh, NC. She has successfully gotten her first job-Subway, and she got her drivers license.  At the end of summer, we will take her back to school and head back to Botswana. It will be a new chapter for all of us with an ocean separating us, but she is doing a great job adjusting to life in America.

Strawberry Picking

The Lord has been so gracious to bless Ellie with such a great friend during our Stateside. Daisy lives in our neighborhood and they are even in the same class at the same school. Daisy’s mom took them strawberry picking and Ellie had the best time doing that for the first time ever.

Providence Students

We love hosting Providence College Students each Spring Break. Since our Stateside house is located by Providence, we were able to host many of the students to our home and get to talk about Botswana. God is doing an amazing work in these kids lives ❤️

Cool Spring Baptist Church

When Bradyn was little, Thomas Curley from Cool Spring Baptist Church in Virginia came to Botswana to share Jesus with the people of Botswana on 3 separate occasions. Thankfully he also noticed our son Bradyn and invested in him. Bradyn often said Thomas was his ‘best friend’. This weekend, we ran back into Thomas and although they now are about the same height and many years have passed, Bradyn fondly remembers in his younger years how Thomas cared for him as a missionary kid needing a friend.

Volunteers, you make an impact oversees sharing Jesus and you also have a huge impact on our kids lives…thank you ❤️

Bradyn and Thomas today

Cool Spring is not too far from Liberty so we stopped through and visited Taylor for a few hours.

Spring Break

The beach is definitely our happy place. For Ellie’s spring break, just she and mom took off to Myrtle Beach some 1:1 quality time together. We then met up with the boys and both of our parents for a magical week on Oak Island. Steve and Shelly Harney, our former Journeyman Julia Brodsky’s parents, gifted us with a week at their beach house. What a restful, relaxing time we had all together ❤️
