Beach with Turner’s

We have been traveling around quite a bit and the longest we have spent in any one place since arriving in the States has been 3 weeks. We took some time as a family to rest for a little while at Brent’s parent’s place in Little River, SC. We were fortunate enough to get to spend a week with both sides of the family. Here are some pics from our time with Brent’s family. Youngins sure do make things fun!

Below pics: We went to the Children’s Museum of South Carolina down in Myrtle Beach and would definitely recommend going if you have kids. What a fine time of exploration and using their imaginations.

Easter egg hunt

The kids did the local easter egg hunt in North Myrtle Beach. Taylor was super excited, but Bradyn on the other had wanted nothing to do with getting eggs as you can see below. I even helped him put 2 eggs in his basket and he threw them out…silly boy.

Cows, fire trucks, police cars, and carnivals

The kids have had some fun experiences lately. When we are in South Carolina we normally visit chick fil a not only because we love their but also it has a play area and internet which we don’t have where we are staying.

While riding past the fire house on the golf cart, the firemen had the truck outside. They invited our kids to come over and let them sit inside an even gave them hats. What a great group of firemen.

Recently Ocean Isle Beach had a carnival to raise money for the local museum. The Sheriff let the kids sit in his car, turn on the lights/siren, and even gave them badges. Many memories!!

Happy Birthday, Brent!

So I am a little behind on blogging as it’s now May and Brent celebrated his birthday on March 21st. We spent the day as a family at Myrtle Beach hanging out on the boardwalk and playing games at an arcade. We spent a total of $9 at the arcade and had such a fun day together. Happy Birthday to the best dad and husband and we are so blessed to be on this adventure of life with you!

Beach with the Babbs

When we were first married we attended a young married life class at our church in Raleigh, NC and made some great friendships that we still cherish today. One of those couples is the Babbs family. We’ve went through many life stages together and are so thankful for their friendship. We had an amazing weekend with them at the beach and we are enjoying reconnecting with dear friends and family.

Girl Weekend-Williamsburg

I am so thankful for great friends! In college at Liberty University I made many great friends and I am so thankful that we can still keep in touch. Recently several of my friends and I got together for a weekend away in Williamsburg, Virginia and had a fun time catching up. Friends can definitely pull you down or bring you up and I am thankful that the Lord put these wonderful ladies in my life who have strengthened my walk with the Lord!

Chapel at RCA

We were able to go to Amanda’s old elementary and high school and speak at their chapel services. Rainelle Christian Academy holds so many fond memories and I was so glad to let Taylor come along with us. The kindergarten teacher-Mrs. Dawson-invited Taylor to come join the class for the day and she had so much fun.

Taylor helped demonstrate how to carry things on her head and how to carry a baby on her back.

Raleigh

We have been speaking at several churches recently sharing what the Lord is doing in Botswana. We were so happy to be a part of Providence Baptist Church’s missions festival in late February. It gave us a time to catch up with some old friends and we got to stay the weekend with our friends Nick and Dana Babbs.

We moved to Raleigh, NC when we were 1st married in 2004 and joined a young married class at Providence Baptist Church. We still have some very dear friends from there and were able to get together with Nick and Dana Babbs and Courtney Bryant and their sweet kiddos.

We had a little time between the Sunday morning service and the Sunday evening service and enjoyed the warm weather at the park.

Above: Taylor made a friend while we were at the park. This new friend’s mom was so impressed when it was time for them to go Taylor said “let me give you a kiss and hug”. Our little girl has never met a stranger.

Disney on Ice

Sometimes we feel like we are trying to fit 3 years of activities into our 7 month Stateside. A lot of things that the kiddos can’t do overseas we are trying to fit in during our time in America. We recently went to Disney on Ice in Washington DC. We all had so much fun minus the $12 bags of cotton candy. The highlights by far were Rapunzel and Flynn and also when Captain Hook fell into the Crocs mouth Bradyn yelled “uh oh!”
